Located on the border of Brazil in the northern province of Misiones, the Iguazu Falls consist of over 270 waterfalls spread over a distance of nearly two miles. The largest fall, Devil’s Throat, tumbles from a height of 269 feet. Visitors often comment on the sheer power and majesty of the falls.

In Argentina, travelers view the falls from the Iguazu National Park. There, they can take a lower trail that explores the base of the falls. Alternately, they can embark on the upper path, which features a number of catwalks that treat visitors to a view of the falls from the top. It is commonly believed that the best panoramic views of the falls and the surrounding areas can be experienced from Argentina. The most adventurous of visitors often enjoy experiencing the falls by boat.

The Iguazu Falls have been named one of the natural wonders of South America. Also included are Mount Aconcagua, the Harbor of Rio de Janeiro, the Atacama Desert, and the Salar de Uyuni salt flats in Bolivia.
